Here I will show you the steps to fix the mouse and keyboard issue on MacOS Catalina. While during the installation of MacOS Catalina on Virtualbox you will see the mouse and keyboard stuck is not working on the screen due to that you are not able to complete the installation process. Therefore, I will guide you completely with each and everything.

Step 1: Install Virtualbox Extension Pack

Those users who install Virtualbox extension pack already then they won’t face such issues but those users who didn’t install so far then needless to say they will face with such a problem but don’t worry follow the below instructions.

#1. Go to Virtualbox.org and download the latest version of Virtualbox Extension Pack.

#2. Once the downloading is done, then open Virtualbox and click on the Tools option afterward click the Preferences and click the Extension option from the left side.

#3. To add Virtualbox extension pack click on the Add icon from the right top side and select the Extension Pack setup and open it.

#4. While you added the extension pack setup then it will ask you to install the extension pack, therefore, click the Install button.

#5. Now scroll down and agree to the terms of Evaluation License (PUEL). after that, the Extension pack will be installed.

#6. Wait for a while to complete the installation process and then click the OK button.

Step 2: Change the VM Operating System version

It’s not finished yet, after installing Virtualbox Extension pack so far you have that issues and for that, you have to change the MacOS Catalina version from General Setting. However, if you have selected Mac OS X (64-bit) version then it’s fine if not then go to Virtualbox and select MacOS Catalina Virtual Machine and click the Setting option and go to General tab and change the Version to Mac OS X (64-bit). After that, click Ok button.

Step 3: Enable and Use USB 3.0 Controller

This step is optional, use this step when you have the same issues so far but if your problem has been solved then never go with this step. So, in this article, as we are showing how to fix the mouse and keyboard stuck, therefore, you have to add mouse and keyboard manually to the VirtualBox USB controller.

Open Virtualbox and select MacOS Catalina virtual machine and go to setting and from the left side go to USB tab. select USB 3.0 (xHCI), Controller. Next, click on Add button to list your mouse and keyboard under USB Device Filters.
